KTM recalls Enduro R motorcycles

The rear brake pedal may detach from the motorcycle

KTM North America is recalling 649 model year 2014 690 Enduro R motorcycles manufactured October 2013, to April 2014.

The rear brake pedal mounting bolt in the affected motorcycles may loosen, allowing the rear brake pedal to detach from the motorcycle. If the rear brake pedal detaches, the rider would only have the front brake to slow or stop the motorcycle, increasing the risk of a crash.

KTM will notify owners, and dealers will install and properly torque, a washer and new rear brake pedal mounting bolt with threadlocker, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin in July 2014.
