However, the company said the vehicle’s electric circuitry ensures that some lights remain on all around the vehicle. The driver is immediately informed of this on the instrument cluster.
There have been no crashes or injuries reported.
In December 2013, Volkswagen plans to notify all owners of affected vehicles and will instruct them to arrange for an appointment with an authorized Volkswagen dealer. At no cost to customers, dealers will replace the existing F16 position fuse with a new, optimized hard-coated fuse .
Jetta Hybrid
Volkswagen is also announcing an upcoming safety recall affecting 3,836, 2013-2014 model year Volkswagen Jetta Hybrids. It has been discovered that in the Jetta Hybrid the seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox (DQ200), electric malfunctions could occur in the gearbox power supply if synthetic gearbox oil is used. This applies in particular if the vehicle is subject to a hot and humid climate, coupled with a high proportion of stop and go driving.
In December 2013, Volkswagen plans to notify all owners of affected vehicles and will instruct them to arrange for an appointment with an authorized Volkswagen dealer. At no cost to customers, dealers will replace the existing synthetic gearbox oil with a new mineral-based oil with non-corrosive additives.
