King's Pastry Canada recalls various cakes

The products contain tree nut allergens not declared on the label

King's Pastry of Ontario, Canada, is recalling various cake products containing tree nut (hazelnut) allergens not declared on label.

The firm has received one complaint associated with consumption of the product.

The following products, distributed to retail stores and food service in Illinois, Hawaii, Massachusetts and New York, are being recalled:

The Tuxedo Bar Cake and Chocolate Bar Cake are packaged in a clear rectangular semi-rigid plastic dome with a black base.

The Chocolate Lava Cake is packaged in a clear square-shaped rigid plastic container sealed with a plastic film, and is then packaged in a square-shaped thin cardboard box.

The Cappuccino Carnival Cake and Mango Carnival Cake are packaged in cardboard tray and are only sold in cafeteria.

The recall involves any product purchased before January 1, 2017.

What to do

Customers who purchased the recalled should return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
