Hans Kissle Company recalls ready-to-eat chicken products

The products may contain bacterial pathogens

Hans Kissle Company of Haverhill, Mass., is recalling approximately 6,348 pounds of ready-to-eat chicken products.

A potential process defect may have resulted in the potential survival of bacterial pathogens in the products.

There are no confirmed reports of illness or injury due to consumption of these products.

The following microwavable ready-to-eat chicken bowl items, produced from December 1, 2016, through January 16, 2017, are being recalled:

  • 16-oz. (1-lb.) lidded bowls containing Roche brand R Kitchen Sweet & Sour Chicken.
  • 16-oz. (1-lb.) lidded bowls containing Roche brand R Kitchen General Tsos Chicken.

The recalled products, bearing establishment number P-7573 inside the USDA mark of inspection, were shipped to the Roche grocery store chain in the Boston, Mass., area.

What to do

Customers who purchased the recalled products should not consume them, but throw them away or return them to the place of purchase.
