Lekker recalls Patriot Power Generators

The battery sold with the generator can catch fire

Lekker LLC, of Lindon, Utah, is recalling about 2,200 Patriot Power 1500 watt generators.

 

The battery sold with the generator can catch fire, posing a fire hazard to the user or bystanders.

 

The company has received 13 reports of generator fires, two reports of generators that began to smoke and one report of an unusual noise or odor from the generator. No injuries have been reported.

 

The recall involves the 1,500 watt Patriot Power Generator. The generators were sold in black or dark blue with “Patriot Power Generator” printed on the right side of the unit.

 

The recalled generators have serial numbers U14040001 through U14041092 and U14110001 through U14111092 printed on a sticker in the upper right hand corner of the rear panel of the unit.

 

The generators measure about 18 inches long by 10 inches wide by 12 inches tall.

 

The generators, manufactured in China, were sold exclusively online by at www.4patriots.com from November 2014, through April 2015, for about $2,000.

 

What to do

 

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled generators and contact 4Patriots for instructions on receiving a free replacement generator.
