The filler cap at the top of the unit can crack and allow steam to escape
May 20, 2015Precision Trading of Miami, Fla., is recalling about 4,700 Premium Espresso Makers.
The filler cap at the top of the unit can crack and allow steam to escape, posing a risk of burns to the user. In addition, the cap can pop off unexpectedly as a result of pressure buildup, posing a risk of injury to a bystander.
The firm has received 1 report of a consumer who sustained burns to her arm when the cap unexpectedly released steam from the espresso maker.
This recall involves Precision Trading Corp.’s Premium 4-cup Espresso Makers manufactured in September and November 2014. The recalled units have model number PEM585 and product date code “0914” or “1114” printed on a rating label affixed to the bottom of the espresso maker.
The Premium logo is printed on the bottom front of the espresso maker. Espresso makers with “2015” marked on the cap are not included in this recall.
The espresso makers, manufactured in China, were sold at BrandMart U.S.A. and other retail stores in Florida and Puerto Rico between November 2014, and February 2015, for about $30.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled espresso makers and contact Precision Trading for a free replacement cap.
