PhotoMelville Direct of Lawrenceburg, Ind., is recalling about 3,600 aquarium motion lamps.

The lamp can overheat and spark when plugged in, posing a fire hazard.

Eleven incidents of the item overheating or sparking when plugged in have been reported. No injuries have been reported.

The aquarium lamp, which simulates a tropical coral reef, contains no water. Lights illuminate colorful fish and dolphins that swim back and forth with a 3-D effect. The scene is framed by a beveled glass mirror frame. The lamp case and stand are made of plastic.

The lamp measures 7 ½ inches tall x 12 ¼ inches wide x 3 inches deep. Style 45458 is printed on the original box.

The lamps, manufactured in China, were sold exclusively through the Bits and Pieces catalog and online at www.bitsandpieces.com from September 1, 2014, through January 9, 2015, for about $30.

Consumers should unplug the lamp. Melville Direct is contacting customers whose lamps shipped after September 1, 2014. The letter includes a return form and a merchandise return label. Customers should complete the return form and affix the postage-paid return label to the outside of the box.

Customers may contact Melville Direct to receive the form and label toll-free at (855) 557-4657 between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday.
