Kirsch Mushroom recalls Chilean mushrooms

Kirsch Mushroom Co., of Bronx, N.Y., is recalling Chilean mushrooms that were purchased from Nov 1, 2014, to Dec 20, 2014.

 

The product contains sulfites, which are not listed on the label.

 

The consumption of 10 mg. of sulfites per serving has been reported to produce severe reactions in some asthmatics, including anaphylactic shock. Analysis of this product revealed a sulfite level in excess of 10 mg. per serving.

 

No illness or allergic reactions involving this product have been reported to date.

 

The recalled mushrooms were sold to Sloan super market in Buffalo, N.Y., which has made label corrections. Walk-in customers may have purchased this batch of mushrooms.

 

Consumers who purchased the recalled product should return it to Kirsch Mushroom for a full refund.
