Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A. is recalling 28 model year 2014 Yamaha YZF-R6 motorcycles manufactured August 1, 2014, to September 1, 2014.
The front and rear wheels of the affected motorcycles may have been manufactured with insufficient hardness. This could cause the wheels to loosen and/or air to leak from around the tire bead. Either condition increases the risk of a crash.
Yamaha has notified owners, and dealers will replace the front and rear wheel and tire assemblies, free of charge. The recall began on October 21, 2014.
Owners may contact Yamaha customer service at 1-800-962-7926. Yamaha's number for this recall is 990088.
