Attwood Corporation of Lowell, Mich., is recalling about 10,000 kayak and watersports storage hangers.

The length adjustment buckles can release unexpectedly, causing the item being stored to fall and injure people nearby

No incidents or injuries have been reported.

This recall involves kayak and watersports storage hangers sold as a pair of blue and black fabric straps that measure approximately 1 inch wide and 84 inches long when unbuckled. The straps include a plastic snap buckle to adjust the length and a plastic-coated steel S-hook attachment for hanging. Model number 11917-6 is located on the back of the retail package near the barcode.

The hangers, manufactured in China, were sold at Walmart, Mills Farm Fleet stores, marine dealers nationwide and online at Walmart.com from January 2014, to July 2014, for about $15.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled storage hangers and return them to Attwood or the store where the item was purchased for a full refund or replacement.

Consumers may contact Attwood Corporation toll-free at (844) 808-5704 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday.
