Philips Lighting North America Corporation is recalling about 7,500 “Lightolier” brand AF4SY Decorative Glass Lenses.

The decorative glass lens can shatter and result in falling pieces of glass, posing a risk of laceration to the consumer.

The company has received one report of the glass lens breaking. No injuries have been reported.

This recall involves Philips “Lightolier” brand AF4SY decorative glass lenses used on various types of light fixtures. The clear glass lens, used to “soften” light with an additional lens layer, is 4 ¾ inches in diameter and 1/8 inch thick. The lenses were manufactured between January 2007, and December 2013. There are no markings on the product. The product number is on the packaging.

The lenses, manufactured in the U.S., were sold by electrical wholesale distributors nationwide from February 2007, through December 2013, for between $25 and $50.

Consumers should immediately remove the recalled glass lens and contact Philips Lighting for a free replacement unit.

Consumers may contact Philips Lighting at (800) 475-9840 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, or by email at glassaccessory@philips.com.
