The passenger side frontal air bag could rupture

Mitsubishi Motors North America (MMNA) is conducting a limited regional recall for certain model year 2004 and 2005 Lancer vehicles currently registered in Florida, Puerto Rico, Hawaii and the U.S. Virgin Islands, and equipped with Takata-brand passenger side air bag inflators.
Upon deployment of the passenger side frontal air bag, excessive internal pressure may cause the inflator to rupture. Metal fragments from the inflator could strike and potentially seriously injure the vehicle occupants.
MMNA will notify owners, and dealers will replace the passenger side air bag inflators free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule.
