Daesang recalls mixed soy bean paste

The product may contain an undeclared allergens -- peanuts

PhotoDaesang America of Hackensack, NJ, is recalling its 500gram (17.64 Ounce) packages of Sesame and Garlic flavored Mixed Soy Bean Paste.

The paste may contain undeclared peanuts. People who have allergies to peanuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products. No severe illnesses or injuries have been reported to date in connection with this problem. But there was a report of a minor allergy reaction.

The product comes in a 500 gram (17.64 ounce), Sage Green plastic package marked with Sunchang Ssamjang (Sesame & Garlic Seasoned Bean Paste; 참깨마늘 양념쌈장) on the top & front of the package. All dates of expiration fall under this recall coverage for this particular item. It is a product of Korea and was distributed from June 2012 - February 2013. UPC for the product is 880152435671.

The recalled Mixed Soy Bean Paste (Sesame & Garlic) were distributed nationwide in retail stores and through online orders.

Production of the product has been suspended.

Consumers who purchased the product are urged to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
