Altria Group Distribution Company (AGDC) of Richmond, Va., is recalling about 365,000 3-in-1 flashlight, compass and match holders.

Matches inside the match holder can ignite when in contact with the striker pad beneath the compass cap, posing burn and injury hazards to consumers.

The firm has received 11 reports of the matches igniting inside the product, including 2 reports of the product exploding. One consumer reported receiving minor burns and 1 reported receiving medical attention for injuries to his hand.

The recalled product is a bronze-colored 3-in-1 flashlight that was distributed as a promotional item for Marlboro brand cigarettes. The flashlight is 4.5 inches long and 1 inch in diameter and has five LED lights.

It has a compartment for storing matches and an end cap that has a compass in the top. The cap with the compass has a striker pad on the inside. It came with 20 wooden matches and a removable foam insert between the matches and the striker pad.

The flashlights, manufactured in China, were distributed by Marlboro.com and 1-800-Marlboro free of charge from January 2014, through March 2014.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled product, remove the matches and store them safely and contact AGDC for a free replacement item of equal or greater value. AGDC is contacting consumers directly.

Consumers may contact AGDC toll-free at (888) 597-5387 from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. ET Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET.
