Campbell recalls Prego Traditional Italian sauce

The product may be spoiled

PhotoCampbell Soup Company is recalling approximately 300 cases of 24-ounce jars of Prego Traditional Italian sauce because of a risk of spoilage.

No consumer illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this recall.

The affected product was manufactured on December 15, 2013 and can be identified by the “Best By” date of June 16, 2015 and a four-digit, military time code ranging from “CT BJ ZV 0330” through “CT BJ ZV 0449.” This information is printed on the top of the lid as follows:

Through JUN 16 2015 12153 
CT BJ ZV 0449

The recalled product was made at the Campbell Soup Supply Company establishment in Paris, Texas and was shipped on December 21, 2013, to retailer distribution centers serving Arizona, Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico and Oklahoma. This recall is limited to the U.S.

Consumers who have purchased the product should not eat it, but return it to the store where it was purchased for a full refund.
