Highland Ridge RV is recalling 74 model year 2019 Mesa Ridge Lite 2804RK and Open Range Ultra Lite 2804RK travel trailers.
The Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR), shown on the label as 7,675lbs, exceeds the safety chain rating of 7,600lbs.
The incorrect GVWR may result in the safety chains being insufficient to retain the trailer in the event that the trailer unhooks from the tow vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
What to do
Highland has notified owners and is providing corrected labels free of charge.
The recall began March 18, 2019.
