Del Monte Fresh Produce recalls vegetable trays

The products may be contaminated with Cyclospora

Del Monte Fresh Produce N.A. is recalling a limited quantity of vegetable trays containing fresh broccoli, cauliflower, celery sticks, carrots, and dill dip.

The products may be contaminated with Cyclospora, a parasite that can cause the intestinal illness Cyclosporiasis. The Centers for Disease Control says the infection usually is not life threatening.

Symptoms may include watery diarrhea (most common), loss of appetite, weight loss, cramping, bloating, increased gas, nausea, fatigue.

The products, which may be linked to a recent cluster of illnesses, were distributed for sale in clear plastic containers with the following labels and markings:

The recalled products were distributed to Kwik Trip, Kwik Star, Demond's, Sentry, Potash, Meehan's, Country Market, Food Max Supermarket and Peapod in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin, and have "Best If Enjoyed By" date of June 17, 2018 or earlier.

Consumers who the recalled products should dispose of the product in an appropriate waste container.
