Seabear recalls Cold Smoked Wild Coho Salmon Lox

The product may be contaminated with Clostridium botulinum

PhotoSeabear Company of Anacortes, Wash., is recalling 1,225 3-oz. units of Gerard & Dominique Seafoods brand Cold Smoked Wild Coho Salmon Lox.

The product may be contaminated with Clostridium botulinum, which can cause life-threatening illness or death.

No illnesses have been reported to date.

The Cold Smoked Wild Coho Salmon Lox, lot # CSCO-17339, Pack Date 17-340, was shipped directly to distributors in California, Maryland and Washington between December 8, 2017, and April 10, 2018, and may have been further distributed and sold through retail stores at least in these states.

The recalled product was packaged in a reduced oxygen packaging, net wt. 3-oz. (85g), and has the UPC 7 52047 92635 4.

What to do

Customers who purchased the recalled product should keep it frozen until used and thaw under refrigeration immediately before use.

If the product has been refrigerated, it should be discarded immediately even if it does not look or smell spoiled.
