Embutidos Fanguito expands pork recall

The label incorrectly identifies the product as 'cooked'

PhotoEmbutidos Fanguito of Miami, Fla., is recalling approximately 984 pounds of pork products that are incorrectly identified as cooked product.

In addition, the products may contain soy, an allergen, and Monosodium Glutamate not declared on the finished product label.

There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions.

The following 530 pounds of fresh, sliced pork chorizo, produced and packed from October 16, 2016, through June 16, 2017, is subject to recall:

  • 2-oz. sealed packages containing Embutidos El Fanguito Chorizo with a sell by date of Sept. 17, 2017.

In an earlier action, the firm recalled approximately 454 pounds of 8-oz. sealed packages containing six slices of Jamon Vicky Lasqueado Smoked Flavor Added Sliced Cooked Ham & Water Product.

The recalled products, bearing establishment number EST. 45659 inside the USDA mark of inspection, were shipped to retail locations in Florida.

What to do

Customers who purchased the recalled products should not consume them, but throw them away or return them to the place of purchase.
