McCain Foods expands recall of frozen hash browns

The Wegmans retail brand is now included

PhotoMcCain Foods USA is expanding its earlier recall of retail, frozen hash browns that may contain golf ball materials -- specifically hard plastic or rubber pieces.

No injuries have been reported from consumption of this product.

The original recall that included Roundys and Harris Teeter Brand Hash Browns has been expanded to include the Wegmans Brand 28-ounce bag of frozen OBrien Hash Browns (UPC 07789036523).

The Wegmans product, manufactured on October 21, 2016, with a production code of B161021 that can be found on the bag, was distributed after October 21, 2016, in Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Virginia.

What to do

Customers who have purchased the recalled products should not consume them, but throw them away or return them to the place of purchase.
