Western Mixers expands pistachio recall

PhotoWestern Mixers Produce & Nut Company of Los Angeles, Calif., is expanding its earlier recall of ARO and/or Treasured Harvest pistachios. The products have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.

Pistachios were distributed in California, Nevada, Ohio and Utah; through retail stores, mail order and various distributors from October 17, 2012 – May 28, 2013.

The pistachios can be identified as follows:

Consumers who have purchased products with the above Lot numbers, are urged to destroy them and/or return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
