Livos Canada recalls SVALOS 222 tool cleaner and thinner

The recalled products pose aspiration hazards

PhotoLivos Canada of Proulxville, Quebec, is recalling about 1,500 containers of SVALOS 222 tool cleaner and thinner.

The recalled products pose aspiration hazards, which can result in severe adverse health effects including pulmonary injury, chemical pneumonia and death.

There are no reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these products.

The following products are being recalled:

  • SVALOS 222 tool cleaner and thinner 500ml
  • SVALOS 222 tool cleaner and thinner 1L
  • SVALOS 222 tool cleaner and thinner 5L
  • SVALOS 222 tool cleaner and thinner 10L

The tool cleaners, manufactured in Germany, were sold between May 2008, and October 2016, in various retail outlets and hardware stores.

What to do

Customers who purchased the recalled products should stop using them and contact Livos Canada to obtain a compliant label.
