PhotoLithonia Lighting of Conyers, Ga., is recalling about 6,500 JHBL LED fixtures.

The metal hub used to mount the light fixtures to the ceiling can break and allow the fixture to fall unexpectedly, posing a risk of injury from impact.

The company has received eight reports of hubs on the light fixture breaking, including four reports of the fixtures falling. No injuries have been reported.

This recall involves JHBL LED light fixtures manufactured between August 2014, and June 20, 2015. Manufacture dates are located on the product label near the top of the light fixture.

The light fixtures measure 16-inches high by 22-inches wide and weigh about 40 pounds. They are painted white die castings with raised heat dissipating fins every 2 inches.

The lower die casting with fins is approximately 4 inches from the driver compartment box. Units shipped after June 20, 2015, are not included in the recall.

The fixtures, manufactured in Mexico, were sold at electrical distributors nationwide from August 2014, through June 2015, for about $520.

Consumers should immediately contact Lithonia Lighting to receive a free chain to secure the fixture to the ceiling. Lithonia Lighting is contacting all known customers.

Consumers may contact Lithonia Lighting at 800-315-4963 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (ET) Monday through Friday, or online at www.lithonia.com and click on “JHBL LED Recall Information” on the left side of the page for more information.
