The glass lid can break when the jar is being opened
November 24, 2015MVP Group of Charleston, S.C., is recalling about 720,000 glass jar candles with lids.
The glass lid can break when the jar is being opened, posing a laceration hazard.
There have been 16 reported incidents resulting in laceration injuries, some requiring medical attention, including one requiring stitches.
The glass jar candles have glass lids and weigh about 18 oz. They were sold under various brand names, scents and colors, including:

The jar candles, manufactured in the U.S. and China, were sold at Big Lots, Dollar General and Family Dollar stores between February 2015, and November 2015, for about $5.
Consumers should immediately stop using the candles and call MVP to arrange for a full refund. If jars are unopened, consumers should not attempt to open them.
