P. East Trading Corp. of Bronx, N.Y., is recalling Salted Smoked Split Herring
The product was found to be uneviscerated.
Uneviscerated fish have been liked to outbreaks of botulism poisoning.
No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this problem
The recalled product, imported from Canada and packaged in 18-lb wooden boxes with a May 19, 2015, was sold in New York and New Jersey. The product was repacked by stores for retail sale.
Customers who purchased the recalled product should not eat it and return it to the place of purchase.
