Tristar Food Wholesale recalls Heng Cheong Loong Golden Raisins

The product contains sulfites, which are not listed on the label

PhotoTristar Food Wholesale Co. of Jersey City, N.J., is recalling Heng Cheong Loong Co. (HCL) Dried Golden Raisins.

 

The product contains sulfites, which are not listed on the label. The consumption of 10 milligrams (mg) of sulfites per serving has been reported to elicit severe reaction in some asthmatics. Anaphylactic shock could occur in certain sulfite sensitive individuals upon ingesting 10 mg or more of sulfites.

 

No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this problem.

 

The recalled product, which is imported from South Africa, was distributed in encoded 10-oz. plastic bags with UPC 6-930481-211418 in New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Maryland, Florida, Illinois, North Carolina and the Philadelphia area from July 1, 2015 – Oct 5, 2015.

 

Customers who purchased the recalled product should return it to the place of purchase.
