The consumption of 10 milligrams (mg) of sulfites per serving has been reported to elicit severe reactions in some asthmatics. Anaphylactic shock could occur in certain sulfite sensitive individuals upon ingesting 10 mg or more of sulfites. Analysis of the recalled product revealed it contains 16.96 mg per serving.
No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this problem.
The recalled product comes in an un-coded, 7-oz. plastic bag and was sold in New York, Connecticut and New Jersey.
