Yamaha recalls golf cars and personal transportation vehicles

The front wheels to detach, posing a crash hazard

Yamaha Golf Car Company of Newnan, Ga., is recalling about 2,000 golf cars and personal transportation vehicles (PTV)

 

The front wheel hubs on the golf cars and PTVs can crack causing the front wheels to detach, posing a crash hazard that could result in injury or death to the user or bystander.

 

There are no reports of incidents or injuries

 

This recall involves five 2015 and one 2016 model-year golf cars and PTVs:

The Yamaha logo is printed on the front of the vehicle. The vehicles were sold in various colors including blue, green, red, white, tan and silver. The serial number can be found on a label under the driver’s seat on the left or right side.

 

The vehicles, manufactured in the U.S., were sold at Yamaha Golf Car dealers nationwide from April 2015, through June 2015, for between $5,900 and $7,500. Yamaha is contacting all registered owners directly.

 

Consumers should immediately stop using these recalled Golf Cars and PTVs and contact their local Yamaha Golf Car dealer to schedule a free repair.
