One of its spring sources may be contaminated with E. coli
June 23, 2015Niagara Bottling is recalling all spring water products produced at both the Hamburg, Pa., and Allentown, Pa., facilities between 3 am (EDT) June 10, 2015and 8 pm (EDT) June 18, 2015.
There are concerns that one of its spring sources is contaminated with E. coli. The company says extensive testing on both incoming spring water and finished products has confirmed no issues or E. coli contamination of any kind detected.
The company says the products, sold under the following brand names, are being recalled out of “an abundance of caution:”
- Acadia
- Acme
- Big Y
- Best Yet
- 7-11
- Niagara
- Nature’s Place
- Pricerite
- Superchill
- Morning Fresh
- Shaws
- Shoprite
- Western Beef Blue
- Wegman’s

Niagara is advising consumers to boil the affected water before drinking. The water should be boiled for 1 minute to kill bacteria and other organisms, and cooled before using.
